We’re delighted to share with you an amazing opportunity to take part in a FREE session of meditation by Breathe Meditation in our Conference Room here at The Business Centre (Cardiff) Ltd at 1pm on Wednesday, 6 November!
As workplace related stress is on the rise, more and more small (and large) companies are engaging with wellbeing and wellness practices; for example, weekly yoga sessions or offering flexible working. At The Business Centre, we’re big believers in wellbeing at work, after all a happy working environment provides a wealth of benefits: from more content employees to a productive workspace. Most of us spend 40 hours+ a week at work, it’s important that our work spaces are meaningful and productive. By working in a happier workplace and being mentally healthy, we are more likely to fulfil our potential, look forward to the day ahead and feel more pride in our work. If you’d like to know more, take a look at our 7 Tips for Wellbeing at Work here.
Whilst large corporations often find it easy to implement wellbeing practices it is actually the UK’s 5.5 million SME’s that are the real backbone of the UK economy, however many of these businesses have limited budgets and often employ less than 10 people. So, every time a staff member is off sick, there is the potential for major disruption, this will only be amplified if their sickness overlaps with someone else being on holiday or if they’re the main expert in their field at the company. This can be extremely detrimental to the business’s day to day activity and a potential nightmare to manage! In fact, The Centre for Economics and Business Research revealed that when ill health is tackled quickly, overall absence can be reduced by almost 20%.
