“My journey began with a love for cleaning that turned into a burgeoning business. I started cleaning for family and friends to fit work around my one-year-old daughter. I enjoyed the feeling of leaving someone’s house clean and knowing I had helped them with their busy lives. I would constantly receive messages saying what a pleasure it was to return to a clean home after a busy day at work.
“Soon I became fully booked and decided to take on someone to help me. This worked well and I quickly grew to a team of four within a year.”
Doubling the Workforce
The impressive growth of Môr Cleaning continued, and today Kirsty employs 24 local people in the domestic and commercial cleaning sector with plans to double this by the end of 2025!
They have a diverse client base, ranging from small terraced houses to large office blocks and showrooms across Barry, Cardiff, and the wider Vale.

Kirsty’s passion for creating meaningful change remains stronger than ever, with ambitious plans for the immediate future.
“This year, we’re looking to launch a service that allows customers to purchase our eco-friendly cleaning products for use between cleans.
“However, it’s unfortunate that these products still tend to be more expensive in supermarkets, and the rise of ‘greenwashing’ by manufacturers only adds to the confusion for consumers.”
Environmental protection and responsible business remain a priority for the company.
“We’re continually exploring more ways to reduce our carbon footprint and ensure that our suppliers share the same commitment to sustainability.”
Additionally, the cleaning company is setting its sights on commercial expansion:
“We’re growing the commercial side of the business by increasing our showroom and office cleaning services, and we plan to expand into school cleaning this year too.”
Kirsty’s Entrepreneurial Journey to Eco-Friendly Home and Office Cleaning
“I never envisioned running a cleaning company. I started in retail management after schooling and later attended university to retrain as a teacher, but my entrepreneurial streak and desire to make a difference kept me going. Our success comes from being a hardworking team with a shared goal of reducing toxic cleaning chemicals and exposure, making a positive impact, and upholding sustainable practices.
“The entire team at Môr Cleaning loves what they do and loves the company, and this passion shines through in our service every day.”

Kirsty explained the meaning behind her company’s name and gave us insight into the ethos it is built on.
“Môr means ‘sea’ in Welsh. We’re extremely proud to be a Welsh company, and with the beautiful beach at the heart of the Vale, we wanted to encompass that in our branding.
“We are committed to showing kindness to and improving the wellbeing of the local community and ultimately, the planet.
“Môr Cleaning encompasses the values, beliefs, and principles that drive our culture and decision-making. From how we treat our employees and customers to everything in between.”
