Sharon

An insight into our Receptionist, Sharon

Tell us a little about your job? Who do you work with, what does your job involve?

I’m Sharon and I currently work the afternoon shift alongside Lynne on Reception at The Business Centre (although that is soon to change to the morning shift as one of my colleagues moves on to pastures new). My job is varied and interesting; it involves meeting and greeting the many visitors to The Business Centre, taking the calls for a vast number of our clients both in-house and our virtual clients and dealing with incoming & outgoing mail; emails and general day to day running of the busy reception area.

What does a standard day look like for you?

My day normally starts with breakfast and a Facetime call with my daughter & Grandson which always puts me in a good mood, then it’s either coffee with a friend or a catch up on the housework before leaving in time to get into work for 1pm. After work during the summer months I enjoy sitting in the garden in the evening with a glass of wine!

What brought you to The Business Centre?

I have been a receptionist for the last 15 years, I have been at The Business Centre 5 years following redundancy at my last place of work.

Sharon has worked with us for five years and is here every day to answer all of your questions and queries!
What’s your favourite thing about working at The Business Centre?

Everyone is friendly; this is definitely the friendliest place I have worked.

How do you unwind and relax outside of work?

Outside of work I am married with 2 grown up daughters! One lives in Bath and the other is currently living in Boston, USA. I love to fill my time enjoying the company of my 1 year old Grandson, cooking, and meeting friends for coffee and a catch up.

If you weren’t at The Business Centre what would your dream job be?

If I could choose to do anything else, my dream job would definitely be to own my own coffee shop!

For anyone wanting to become a receptionist what advice would you give them?

Do it! It’s varied and interesting and as every day is different the time goes so quickly!
