Join us for a Fundraising Extravaganza in aid of Cleft Lip & Palate Association!

Here at The Business Centre (Cardiff), we pride ourselves in the role we take in our community and we are always trying to do more to get involved, from Barry Bake Off to installing our Welsh Hearts defibrillator

So when our former Centre Manager, James Mason, and his partner, Lucy, brought baby Oliver into the centre for cuddles with the team and mentioned that they were raising money for the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA), we knew we wanted to get involved!

James and Lucy faced complications during Lucy’s pregnancy when it was revealed at their 20-week scan that Oliver had potential Cleft Palate issues. However, Oliver was born in October 2018 and luckily only had a notch in his lip which was easily corrected with a surgery when he was three months old. Eight weeks on from the surgery, he is absolutely thriving!

However, considering 1 in 700 babies are affected by Cleft Lip and Palate issues, James and Lucy don’t feel like there is enough awareness around the challenges and potential complications. Therefore, they are taking part in CLAPA’s fundraising week to raise money and awareness for this fantastic cause! They already have raised almost £500 through Facebook and now they’ve reached out to local businesses to see if they can help!

Amazing prizes to be won

We will be running a range of competitions in The Business Centre between 7 – 9 May, with the winners of the prizes all being announced on Friday, 10 May at 1pm in Mel’s Café.
